How We Retain Employees
Employee motivation begins with hiring motivated, hardworking candidates who align with our company culture.
Clear expectations about essential duties are established from the start, facilitated by on-site leads who oversee the day-to-day performance of cleaning teams. Leads address and correct performance issues in real-time and give positive feedback when employees meet or exceed expectations. Recognizing employee contributions is integral to our approach. We build inclusion through our Employee Appreciation program and send handwritten thank-you cards to staff exceeding the normal scope of work.
We value employee feedback, maintaining an open-door policy for suggestions on improving efficiencies and morale. Empowering employees to have a voice in positive workplace changes has proven beneficial in keeping them engaged and motivated, especially in roles involving repetitive tasks.
Methodology
At Action Cleaning Services, we prioritize practical employee training, utilizing the Tell-Show-Do-Review method. This structured approach ensures comprehensive learning that accommodates various learning styles, including Auditory, Visual, and Kinesthetic.
TELL: We begin by verbally presenting a foundational introduction to the concepts and skills to be taught.
SHOW: The demonstration phase involves showcasing the concept through video presentations during classroom training and physical demonstrations at the worksite.
HANDS-ON: Employees actively engage in hands-on procedures with the support of a supervisor. The supervisor/trainer guides the janitor through the process and identifies if an additional Tell and Show foundation is required to enhance skills.
REVIEW: The review phase involves the supervisor/trainer conducting a knowledge check with the employee. This is done in the classroom through written tests and discussions and on-site by reviewing procedures and addressing questions.
Dependable Shift Fulfillment
While our level of service and expertise is important, it means nothing without a consistent cleaning schedule. That’s why we have processes in place to ensure there are staff members available to cover all shifts and tasks without interruption.
